FINAL DESIGN STUDY FOR THE AGRICULTURAL PROJECT: PRODUCTION, MANAGEMENT AND STORAGE OF EXOTIC FORAGE FOR THE TURURUMBA COMMUNITY (AYANGO AND RACETE)
General Description
The agricultural project focused on the production, handling, and storage of exotic forage for the Tururumba community, specifically in the towns of Ayango and Racete, has as its main objective to improve livestock feeding and, consequently, increase the productivity of small farmers in the region. Through an initial study, the most suitable varieties of exotic forage for local climate and soil conditions, as well as the nutritional needs of animals in the area, were identified. The final project design includes the implementation of a comprehensive system that covers everything from the selection and sowing of exotic forage species to their handling and storage. Training workshops were held for farmers on best agronomic practices, including cultivation techniques, pest and disease management, and forage conservation methods, such as silage and dehydration. The training was led by experts in agronomy and animal nutrition, ensuring that producers acquire practical and applicable knowledge. Additionally, demonstration plots were established where farmers could experiment with different varieties of forage and evaluate their performance. This not only facilitated the adoption of new techniques but also fostered research and knowledge sharing among community members. The farmers of Tururumba became aware of the necessary tools to improve the quality and quantity of available forage, thus contributing to the well-being of their animals and the sustainable development of the community.

El proyecto agrícola centrado en la producción, manejo y almacenamiento de forraje exótico para la comunidad de Tururumba, específicamente en las localidades de Ayango y Racete, tiene como objetivo principal mejorar la alimentación del ganado y, en consecuencia, aumentar la productividad de los pequeños agricultores de la región. A través de un estudio inicial, se identificaron las variedades de forraje exótico más adecuadas para las condiciones climáticas y del suelo locales, así como las necesidades nutricionales de los animales en la zona. El diseño final del proyecto incluye la implementación de un sistema integral que abarca desde la selección y siembra de especies forrajeras exóticas hasta su manejo y almacenamiento. Se llevaron a cabo talleres de capacitación para los agricultores sobre las mejores prácticas agronómicas, incluyendo técnicas de cultivo, manejo de plagas y enfermedades, y métodos de conservación del forraje, como el ensilado y la deshidratación. La capacitación estuvo a cargo de expertos en agronomía y nutrición animal, asegurando que los productores adquieran conocimientos prácticos y aplicables. Además, se establecieron parcelas demostrativas donde los agricultores pudieron experimentar con diferentes variedades de forraje y evaluar su rendimiento. Esto no solo facilitó la adopción de nuevas técnicas, sino que también fomentó la investigación y el intercambio de conocimientos entre los miembros de la comunidad. Los agricultores de Tururumba tomaron conocimiento de las herramientas necesarias para mejorar la calidad y cantidad de forraje disponible, contribuyendo así al bienestar de sus animales y al desarrollo sostenible de la comunidad.
